Lee Yupin opened Sri Wilayah on the 6th of June 1983. Today SWBC provides one of the finest ballet training in the city of Kuala Lumpur. With an emphasis on discipline and hard-work, the school has produced many individuals who have gone on to be a part of the dance world locally and internationally.

The school is spread out over three floors and contains four studios specially designed to create a quality learning environment, focusing on dance at its core. Graded students go through a developed internal syllabus and exams to assess their learning progress. Higher vocational students enrol in the Vocational Graded Examinations of the Royal Academy of Dance, UK.

Events range from parents' week, Christmas parties, dance camps, school concerts, award presentations, and participation in dance competitions and performing arts festivals. Former and current students have earned top prizes, international scholarships, and invitations to prestigious academies worldwide — for intensive immersion programs and full-time professional dance studies.
